Old-family-recipe pizza, pasta, and sandwiches. When you want dinner handled, this is an easy yes.

David & Ashli’s guide to Pittsfield, Illinois
We’ll show you where we eat, wander, unwind, and send our own friends.
A note from David
Pittsfield does not need a packed itinerary. It needs a little time. Start around the courthouse square, eat somewhere local, drive out to the lake, and leave enough room in the day to follow whatever catches your eye.
We built this guide for the question we hear all the time: “What should we do while we’re here?”Pick your kind of stay

Our favorite first stop
Monroe Street Suites sits just south of the courthouse, so downtown is the easiest place to start. Look up at the old buildings, pop into whatever is open, and do not rush the lap around the square.
Our pick: go early when the square is quiet, or just before sunset when the brick starts to glow.
Where we actually send people

Old-family-recipe pizza, pasta, and sandwiches. When you want dinner handled, this is an easy yes.

Our downtown pick for coffee, breakfast, lunch, baked goods, and friendly faces.

More than 70 years of soft serve, rotating flavors, and summer-night nostalgia.

When we need some quiet
Pittsfield City Lake is only minutes from downtown. Take a slow drive, bring a fishing pole, launch a kayak, or simply sit still long enough for your shoulders to drop.

Hunters travel a long way for Pike County. If you are planning a hunt, talk directly with a local outfitter about seasons, packages, property, and what is included. West Central Outfitters is based right here in Pittsfield; Hadley Creek is nearby in Barry.
